Ahead Of Schedule

Good morning all,
todays post will have to come to you with out photos. They will be coming but i am out of battery and no converter yet. Plan to pick one up today when in town. The host family is kind enough to share there computer with us as well as there home.

So back to the update. Yesterday we arrived and began the demo of the rest of the room that was still standing. There were a total of two walls that needed to be taken down and the rubble hauled away. It was amazing to have worked and completed what we did. We were all blessed but cloud cover for most of the day and stopped and smiled extra wide when Simferopol shared a breeze with us; almost as a thank-you for blessing here children.

Before the demo and children's programs began we got to do an introduction of the family and the group. The family went first and introduced the children and what they like to do and there talents. It was pretty amazing. They laughed and said they didn't know for sure how many they had total till yesterday when they did a head count. 14 adopted children, 2 biological daughters that help out and mom and pops. That's right 18 people in one home. I have to admit my thoughts of wanting a bigger place made me feel ashamed. (Sorry, Julie that bigger house is gonna have to wait.) It doesn't look like they are going to slow down any time soon.

After lunch or really what they called a snack..which was at noon and was what i considered lunch...we jumped back to work and knocked out most of the work that the family had planned for us to accomplish in the 4 days we were going to be here to work. At lunch (2nd lunch at 3:30) the families oldest daughter Lena, started off by apologizing to the group. At first i was wondering what in the world she could be apologizing for, she then shared her thoughts of the group at first glance. Im sure we looked like a bunch of sleepy Americans that weren't going to do much apon arrival at the church Sunday. (Remember we just got finished with the 2 1/2 days travel at that point. Little sleep for the most part. She told Chuck "you brought boys and women to do a construction project." What were you thinking type of comment. Well after the one days work we were able to get quite alot of work accomplished. Not on our own...I know that i had energy that i dont know where it came from. Your prayers played a larger part in yesterdays success. \

The family laughed as said "what are we going to get them to do for the rest of the time here, we need to make up projects for them to do. Maybe move rocks from one side of the house to the other." Hope to have more photos available to upload this evening.

Stay tuned and keep praying for our effectiveness and health as we are here. Or spirits are high and enjoying playing mime games with the host families. Lots of laughter feeding our souls here!

Love you all and i'll write more soon. Running late for the morning meeting.
